https://give.wmchealth.org/event/Westchester-Warriors-2023/e452618/searchWelcome to the 8th season of the Westchester Warriors Youth Ice Hockey Program! We are excited to announce that this year we will have our the U8 - 2015-17 level & AAA 2008 Birth Year teams. They join our other teams, ranging from 2017 - at the youngest - to our 2005 team charitable hockey program.
The organization is led by Luis Panchame as Manager, Denis Dufresne as Head Coach, and Ron Vitale as CFO.
Dufresne has over 20 years experience coaching right here in Westchester County, from mites through midget U18, as well as in high school.
Panchame and
Vitale, as Manager and CFO respectively, combine their passions as hockey dads with their unparalleled dedication to beating cancer - in all forms. Together they bring more than 30 years experience managing youth hockey teams and programs, which includes their far reaching ties to the hockey community throughout the Northeast, all to the benefit of the
Warriors. With great pride, the entire Warriors staff - including countless volunteers - have led the charge in achieving tremendous success both on and off the ice.
Aside from providing a competitive ice hockey experience, we continue to seek athletes who are prepared to
“Play like Warriors.” Our goal is - and has always been - to use our love of hockey to raise money in support of critically ill children in our community.
We are so grateful to our
Westchester Warrior supporters, who over the years have helped us to raise approximately $600,000 to benefit
Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. This premier pediatric hospital, located in the heart of Westchester County, treats children from all around the world who suffer from the most severe pediatric diseases. Together, our Warriors are making a difference with every passing year and helping to save the lives of other kids who are too sick to play.
We are also thankful to have an
amazing group of dedicated parents who volunteer their time year after year to keep this dream alive. Our co-founders, administrators and all of our coaches set a beautiful example of community spirit and volunteerism for our young athletes. As always,
100% of all donations go directly to our cause.
While we assist the hospital generally, we have a special focus on the hospital’s pediatric oncology group. This year, our funds are earmarked to support a state-of-the-art medical laboratory under the direction of
Dr. Mitchell Cairo that specializes in tailored cellular, gene and regenerative therapy for pediatric cancer and blood disorder patients. Click
